The OTDR is connected to the link-under-test via fibre optic launch cable in order to reveal the near-end connection’s reflectance and insertion loss. Also referred to as a pulse suppressor, the launch cable box aids in removing the blind area or dead zone when utilising an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR). It is intended to help test fibre optic cable, which is frequently used in conjunction with OTDR to reduce measurement uncertainty.
When employing OTDR to identify a fibre optical cable issue, a fibre optic launch box is an essential component. Both near-end and far-end connections can be measured using our premium launch cable. All of the main fibre optic connector types (SC, LC, FC, ST, E2000) are compatible with these affordable launch boxes, which come with both single-mode and multimode cables.
